The Local Food Fair is Farmshed’s premier community outreach event, bringing together producers, local businesses, educators and consumers to celebrate the vibrant local food community we have in Central Wisconsin!

With the tremendous success of 2020’s event (see our supplement for more), we are excited to be announcing the sponsorship opportunities for the 2022 Local Food Fair at Pfiffner Park, May 7th, 2022.

The Local Food Fair is an amazing event for so many reasons, some of them include:

  • Introducing new people to local food resources within Farmshed’s 11-county network in Central Wisconsin

  • Generating increased demand for local and sustainably-produced food through education and promotion

  • Supporting the growth and development of local farms and food-related businesses

  • Providing networking and collaborative opportunities for farmers, restaurants, businesses and organizations, and encouraging conversation around the local food economy

Proceeds from sponsorships support Farmshed’s annual programming and events that promote the mission of growing a resilient local food community. Farmshed’s work is diverse and practical; everything we do is about making connections that build a local food system.

Since July 2020, Farmshed has been able to provide 4,000 culturally appropriate meals to area Hmong families with CAP Services. In partnership with Beloved Community Church and the Rotary Club of Portage County, we prepared 500 servings of nutritious soup and bread to those struggling. Through community financial support we‘ve provided 380 meals, two meals per month, to the Hope Center. Sponsorships help maintain and expand Farmshed’s programs which allow us to progress towards a resilient and equitable local food community.

Thank you for your interest in supporting the Local Food Fair, Farmshed, and our mission.

The FOOD and CHEF Competition

Enjoy the wonders of our local restaurants and craters through our food options at the fair. The dishes, which are unique to each chef’s style, will be a part of a friendly competition to see whose dish is best with more points for using local ingredients.

Over 80 exhibitors from local farms, businesses, and educational organizations sell their goods or share about their programs at this event.

Significant Update to the 2022 Local Food Fair

Hello Food Friends,

We have a significant update to our venue and date for the 2022 Local Food Fair. We recognize that our Local Food Fair is too valuable an event for the annoyances of last minute surprises we’ve all been coping with through the pandemic. Due to updated Covid restrictions and an abundance of caution, we will be moving the event location to Pfiffner Park in Stevens Point. This location allows us to host an outdoor event with safety measures for our exhibitors and the public.

Everyone in Wisconsin knows that February outside can be brutal. Hoping for warmer weather and a more enjoyable outdoor event, we have moved the date of the Local Food Fair to May 7, 2022

Saturday, May 7th, 2022    ||    Pfiffner Park - Stevens Point, WI

Pfiffner Park will provide us with a welcoming community venue and the later date will allow for better weather and more local produce to be available. We hope you will view this change as an official kick off to a bountiful year of food and help us continue to make it the same fun community event it has always been.

We understand these changes are sizable. Know that we did not make this decision lightly. Covid has greatly affected our lives, and this is just another example. Farmshed is committed to hosting a safe and prosperous event for everyone involved.

If you have any concerns or questions, please feel free to contact us. We are happy to talk through the changes and expectations for the updates to our event. You can find our contact information below.

Thank you for your continued support to Farmshed and our local food community.

All the best,

Central Rivers Farmshed
