Farmshed produces the Central Wisconsin Farm Fresh Atlas annually.  It’s a free local food guide that lists farmers who sell directly to consumers in an eleven county region.  It includes a quick reference that works to provide vital information about what each farm produces, their practices, contact information and the services they provide (example: you-pick strawberries).  In addition to farms, the atlas is a guide to businesses and restaurants supporting local food.

The Farm Fresh Atlas began in 2002 in the Southern Wisconsin region as a project of REAP Food Group. The idea took off, and there are now five regional Farm Fresh Atlases in Wisconsin putting sustainable farms, farmers’ markets and local businesses and organizations that promote local food “on the map.”

Each regional Atlas is produced independently by grassroots coalitions including nonprofit organizations, farmers, farmers’ markets, UW-Extension, Resource Conservation and Development District offices (RC&Ds) and University of Wisconsin campuses.
