STEVENS POINT — As local farmers gathered this weekend to talk with other farmers and people interested in growing produce or raising livestock, there was a feeling of optimism about this growing season after months of brutal winter.

Central Rivers Farmshed is hosting a sustainable farmer course through today at its Stevens Point location at 1200 Briggs Court. The program features seminars on vegetable, animal and perennial production. The event also features lessons on how to run a farm by writing a business plan and marketing products.
