Central Rivers Farmshed will host double-value days for EBT/FoodShare recipients at the Stevens Point farmers market in the Mathias Mitchell Public Square and Wood County farmers market in the Rapids Mall parking lot in August.
Double-value days is an incentive program coordinated by Farmshed, where local sponsors match FoodShare transactions up to $10 per customer per month until the monthly allotment runs out in July through October. FoodShare recipients can come to the Farmshed/EBT booth at the market to swipe their EBT card for up to $10 and receive up to $20 in EBT tokens to use at the market on eligible food items. This program encourages community members to shop at the market for fresh, local products including fruits, vegetables, meat and eggs and provides small farms with greatly needed income.
