Would you like to see more local and regional foods in our schools, hospitals, day cares and colleges? You are invited to the following talks on March 10, 2014.
David Parr, founder of Parrfection Produce, from Monroe WI will speak in Wisconsin Rapids on Monday March 10, 2014 about his business of aggregating, processing and distributing local foods to institutional and other wholesale buyers. You are invited to attend one or both of his presentations. David will bring a sampling of his local processed produce. We hope to have time for your questions at the end of each session.

Learn about Parrfection Produce farmers, food safety protocol, product liability insurance, ordering, packaging and delivery of local foods. We will have monthly product price lists available. Prices and availability will reflect the 2013 growing season but will give you an idea of products he will most likely have available next year. David may also speak about cosmetically imperfect produce (seconds) that can be purchased at a reduced price if you have interest in freezing products at your workplace.

Hear how David started his local food business in 2010 and its subsequent growth over the last 4 years. He has all the component parts of a food hub covered: aggregation of produce from over 100 Wisconsin farmers, storage of produce throughout the year, fresh cut processing of local produce for easy use in institutions, and distribution of 3 million pounds of local produce in 2013 to customers in three states.
