    About The Growing Collective
Stevens Point area gardeners have recently organized to take on the growing challenge together.  They call themselves The Growing Collective. The collective, started just last year at The Greenhouse Project by volunteers of Central Rivers Farmshed, is now over 30 members strong. The group is made up of both first-time and experienced home gardeners, along with several community groups including Central Wisconsin Environmental Station (CWES), UW-Extension’s Giving Gardens, and Tomorrow River School District.

The collective grows vegetable starts from seed, including heirloom, organic and unusual selections of tomatoes, peppers, herbs, and many more. Each member creates a plant order for themselves and also makes a commitment to help care for the up to 2000 plants that will be part of the group’s plant sale with proceeds going to support awareness and renovations of Farmshed’s Greenhouse Project.
