For 45 years Tom Jensen has been converting non-pickle lovers into pickle fanatics with his secret cucumber pickle recipe. He will be sharing this 50 year-old recipe with course participants, so they can get a taste too. Tom is a retired physician’s assistant who, along with his wife, has owned a farm on Casimir Road  in Wisconsin for the last 45 years. He uses no spray, chemicals, or artificial fertilizers when growing his produce. Tom will provide all ingredients for this workshop, and the cucumbers, dill, and garlic will come from his farm.

Course Objectives:

  • Pop quiz about pickles-test what you know
  • The process of making cucumber pickles from start to finish (seed to jar)
  • Secret recipe and key factors for making the perfect cucumber pickle
  • Whole cucumber dill pickles, pickle spears, or pickle chips- you choose which you would like to make!

Participants will each go home with 2 quarts of pickles (whole, spears, or chips) along with 1 pint of chips. ***Please bring vegetable scrub brushes if you have them.***
