Sheep to Shawl:
A fiber workshop that begins with the sheep and ends with a shawl
9:00 AM – Shear the Sheep with Randy Cutler (in the barn)
Learn to skirt the wool on three different breeds of sheep
Discuss different wool varieties, fiber diameter, and function
10:00 AM- Noon – Washing, Carding, Spinning, and Knitting (in the house)
Learn how to wash the fleece and card the raw wool
Demonstration of drop spindle and wheel spinning
Practice spinning and then learn to knit*
12:00 PM- Lunch and Linger (in the house)
Chili, cheese, and crackers for lunch
Work on projects together (bring one along) with interesting conversation
Stay or leave at anytime
Cost = $30.00/person or $25 for Farmshed Members

(Degree of participation is up to you; more interested in sheering, stay in the barn; learning to spin up your alley, join us in the house. *Beginner knitting and pattern reading will be covered. The shawl will be a group project. Those who have a wheel would be encouraged to bring them. Experienced knitters are also welcome.)
