Office Support

Greeter 1/week or 2/month regular volunteer; 3-4 hour shifts. Welcomes and assists patrons, visitors, and volunteers, performs light cleaning and office maintenance tasks, and provides volunteer assistance as needed by staff. Learn more here!

Administrative Assistant Positions – Gain or build your administrative experience in nonprofit management with our new Administrative Assistant positions. 4-6 hours weekly, flexible scheduling Monday-Friday.

Bookkeeping Assistant or Intern (1 open position)- Accept payments and donations, prepare and make bank deposits, update and maintain Quickbooks, run budget and financial reports to staff and board on a regular basis, work with Board Chair to sign checks and Board Treasurer to reconcile books.  View Position

Administrative Assistant or Intern (1 open position)- Maintain email accounts as assigned, answer incoming calls and assume other receptionist duties as needed; respond to public questions, requests for information/partnership/tours, and facility rental inquiries, schedule as necessary; maintain donor databases; keep website up to date; send donor and member acknowledgements.  View Position

General Computer Support

Membership and donor thank you letters and reminders (1 or 2 times per month)
Data Management: input hours and contacts to membership and volunteer tracking
Online Research: Occasionally we are curious what similar organizations are doing to be more effective, maximize reach and impact, and increase our sustainability. An interested volunteer could work with staff to identify information that could help us develop and improve.

Marketing and Design

Help Farmshed increase marketing efficiency and success through social media, identify untapped resources, create and coordinate distribution of posters, flyers, and other promotional materials, and beyond. Projects depend on volunteer’s experience and interest. Miscellaneous ongoing opportunities available.

Fundraising

Grants & Sponsors- Help Farmshed identify grants and sponsors that align with our organization, draft grants, meet with and/or contact potential funders. Role varies depending on volunteer’s experience and network.

Events- help us develop fun ways to raise additional funds at our annual events Farmer Tribute Dinner (November), Local Food Fair (February) and the Growing Collective Plant Sale (May).

Other- the sky’s the limit; if you have creativity in fundraising we would love to hear from you.

Desired skill-set will be great oral and written communication skills, professional presentation for local events, and drive to increase local food awareness and support in our community. Other helpful skills include experience with resource development / management, donor management, fundraising, grant research and writing.
