Central Rivers Farmshed

We organize events, programs, workshops and resources that help support a local food economy.

The Local Food Fair has been Farmshed’s premier outreach event, bringing together producers, consumers, local businesses, and educators to celebrate community and the food that’s grown within it. Come one, come all to the region’s largest local food celebration!

The 2018 event is undergoing a major revamp and will be held at Sentryworld on Saturday, February 17th from 11 am- 3 pm; this awesome space allows us to extend our reach further than ever before with the ability to accommodate a larger crowd with plenty of space for food-focused activities.

The Local Food Fair is always an amazing event for so many reasons, some of them include:

  • Introducing new people to local food resources within Central Wisconsin
  • Generating increased demand for local and sustainably produced food through education and promotion
  • Supporting the growth and development of local farms and food-related businesses
  • Providing networking and collaborative opportunities for farmers, restaurants, businesses and organizations, and expanding the conversation around the local food economy

The FOOD and CHEF Competition

Come and experience an exciting new twist on the organic potato bar served at past fairs; this year, Local Chefs will try their hand at creating a one of a kind potato dish unique to their style along with a friendly competition to see whose dish is best with more points for using local ingredients.

Restaurants sign up here to participate in the new Chef Competition! Click here for full details about the food and Chef Competition and a printable registration form.

Over 60 exhibitors from local farms, businesses, and educational organizations sell their goods or share about their programs at this event. It is also the release of the 2018 Central Wisconsin Farm Fresh Atlas!

Exhibitors reserve your space online now by clicking here for online registration or here for a printable packet.

New this year, is a poster art gallery featuring the work of Offbeat Press. As always, the fair will also offer food-focused demonstrations and a kid’s activity center organized by students at the Point of Discovery School.
